It’s expected that full service will be restored at that time and further details will follow when that work is complete. This will enable us to continue being able to link to the CQ-UK/WIRESX server via TG2351 only.ĭue to essential engineering work, the Phoenix-E server (repeaters) will be off-line from 12:30 until approx 17:00 today ().

The TYT software is a bit more difficult than the Anytone, and the TYT takes 3-4x as long to consume the contacts CSV.Due to technical difficulties, reflector access via 4409 for TG 2351 (CO-UK/WIRESX) has been discontinued. Programming is pretty similar across all three, with the same order of preference. I have used all 3 on local repeaters and with my two hotspots and audio quality and range seem to be about equal across the three examples of radios I have. The MD-2017 makes a lot of annoying noise when sitting on a heavily monitored talkgroup. The Anytone also does a better job of muting the short duration kerchunks people use to connect their repeaters and hotspots to a given talkgroup. The Anytone D868UV is smaller, and I have the small capacity battery, and manages to perform much better.
I suspect backwards compatibility enabled the manufacturer to pawn off old-stock MD380 batteries that have been sitting on the shelf for years or the radio is a pig on power. The battery that came with it, and all replacements I've managed to purchase, drop to 2 of 3 bars within moments after boot and just don't last long. I don't like the TYT MD-2017 much because of battery issues. The Radioddity GD-77 has a much simpler screen and does not display calls, just DMR IDs. With current firmware the first two hold the full DMR ID csv and display location and call signs. The Tier II radios I have are the D868UV, MD-2017, and GD-77 in order of preference. If you are wondering what Amateur Radio is about, it's basically a two way radio service where licensed operators throughout the world experiment and communicate with each other on frequencies reserved for license holders.
